Week 12 pro football survivor picks
Survive and advance is a popular sports mantra normally saved for the month of March and the madness that comes with it.
But thanks to the rapid growth of the NFL and fantasy football, games like FOX Fantasy Survivor can feed your craving for “win or go home” competition seven months early.
Thousands of football fans signed up and participated in the FOX Fantasy Survivor game last season. The hope is, with cash prizes on the line, we can eclipse that mark in 2012.
The premise is simple: pick one (1) team who you believe is going to win that week. The survivor catch remains that once you pick a team to win, you can’t pick that team again for the rest of the season. The good news is, even if you lose, you are still eligible to win cash prizes.
To assist you with your survivor selections, the FOXSports.com’s fantasy football staff will provide you their picks for the week.
Just remember the mantra: survive and advance. In two months, you could be $2,000 richer.
Week 11 Recap
Fowler, Beall, Harmon, and Halpin - Cowboys over Browns (It wasn't pretty. In fact, it was, at times, unwatchable as a Joe Haden-less Browns' secondary contained Tony Romo and the Cowboys' offense for the majority of the game. Some questionable late-game penalities on the Browns provided the Cowboys all they needed to snatch victory away from the jaws of defeat.)
Week 12 Picks
Everybody loves Colin Kaepernick and they should this week against the Saints' league-worst defense. However, New Orleans has turned into the Phoenix Suns of the NFL as Drew Brees and his offense will challenge the young quarterback (if he starts over Alex Smith) to keep pace with the Saints' rapid scoring barrages. If this game was in San Francisco, my pick may be different, but inside the dome, I like Brees and and Saints to win 34-24.
Beall - Steelers over Browns
In a game that could end in a 3-0 win for one of the teams, Beall (who is on fire in Pro Pick 'em by the way) goes with Charlie Batch and Shaun Suisham. Smart man knows the former Bowling Green State University kicker is the difference maker.
Halpin - Colts over Bills
Halpin won five straight to begin the season, but then Pittsburgh decided to lay an egg against the Titans in Week 6. However, he's bounced back and ripped off five more wins in a row. Although Andrew Luck didn't have his best game up in New England, he displayed his "never say die" Goonies attitude on the field. Fans should also pay attention to the quiet emergence of Vick Ballard against the poor Bills' rush defense.
Harmon - N/A
