2013 Fantasy Football: Top 3 WRs

My 2013 fantasy football top three wide receivers are:

1) Calvin Johnson

  • Averaged 13.7 fantasy points per game in 2012
  • Finished with 122 rec. / 205 targets / 1,964 yards / only 5 TDs
  • Lead all fantasy WRs in points scored back-to-back seasons
  • Expect touchdown totals to increase in 2013
  • Could be first-round pick (I’m still targeting running backs)

2) Brandon Marshall

  • Averaged 13.5 fantasy points per game in 2012
  • Finished with 118 rec. / 194 targets / 1,500-plus yards / 11 TDs (4th in the NFL)
  • The Cutler / Marshall chemistry is evident on Sundays and why he remains one of the top fantasy WRs in the game
  • New tight end Martellus Bennett could open up some routes for Marshall

3) Larry Fitzgerald

  • Averaged 6.5 fantasy points per game in 2012
  • 71 rec. / 153 targets / 798 yards / 4 TDs
  • Kevin Kolb, Ryan Lindley, John Skelton, and Brian Hoyer trying to pass behind an offensive line that allowed the most sacks in the league did not help Fitz’s value
  • Carson Palmer managed to pass for over 4,000 yards with 22 touchdowns with Oakland in 2012
  • If the o-line can keep Palmer up, Fitzgerald will be a fantasy stud
