Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31398288 Stud - Doug Martin vs MIN Stud+-+Doug+Martin+vs+MIN Fantasy Football

Before you hit "send" on that email, I haven't forgot Doug Martin's monster game last Thursday night.  The Buccs' rookie running back experienced his "Hello, world" moment against the Minnesota Vikings.  Martin finished with 29 carries for 135 yards with a touchdown and three receptions for 79 yards with a touchdown.  He could do some damage against the Raiders in Week 9.  This is his backfield, not LeGarrette Blount's and only needs to be patient with Josh Freeman's sudden flashback to his 2010 season.  Freeman became the first Buccs' quarterback to pass for three touchdowns in three straight games. - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31397316 Stud - Trent Richardson vs SD Stud+-+Trent+Richardson+vs+SD Fantasy Football

With his vague rib/cartilage injury still on the minds of many fantasy football owners, Trent Richardson's matchup against San Diego's second-ranked rush defense (13th in fantasy points allowed to RBs - 15.4 FP) didn't scream "MUST-START!"  However, Richardson was the Browns' workhorse in nasty weather on shores of Lake Erie.  He carried the ball 20 or more times for the first time this season, finishing with 24 carries for 122 yards with a touchdown.  Guess he's healthy and okay to start moving forward.  - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31398268 Studs - Miami DST vs NYJ Studs+-+Miami+DST+vs+NYJ Fantasy Football

It's TEEEEEEBOW time!  Wait, it's not?!  After sacking Mark Sanchez four times, forcing him to fumble (MIA recovered), picking him off and holding him to 28-54 passing, the Miami defense still couldn't force Rex Ryan to swallow his pride and give Tebow a shot despite a one-sided affair.  To add to their stellar fantasy day, the Dolphins' special teams blocked a punt and returned it for six as well as blocked a field goal attempt for a grand total of ~24 fantasy points.  That's stud. - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31397331 Stud - Titus Young vs SEA Stud+-+Titus+Young+vs+SEA Fantasy Football

>>> WATCH Week 8 Fantasy Recap

Fantasy owners had been waiting two seasons for Titus Young to break out like this.  All it took was an unfortunate end to Nate Burleson's season (broken leg) for Young to get an adequate shot.  He finished with a career-high nine receptions for a career-high 100 yards with two touchdowns.  With secondaries blanketing Calvin Johnson, look for Young and Ryan Broyles (deeper league waiver ADD) to receive plenty of targets from Matthew Stafford the rest of the season.  - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31395497 Dud - Calvin Johnson vs SEA Dud+-+Calvin+Johnson+vs+SEA Fantasy Football

A tip of the cap to the Seattle defense, but shutting down Calvin Johnson doesn't mean much if you allow Titus Young and Ryan Broyles to torch ya'.  However, Megatron's inability to produce in Week 8 is a microcosm of a larger issue observed over the past month.  Johnson has averaged only four receptions, 67 receiving yards with NO TOUCHDOWNS the past four games.  The Madden Curse theorist are on Line 2. - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31397294 Stud - Stevan Ridley vs STL Stud+-+Stevan+Ridley+vs+STL Fantasy Football

>>> WATCH Week 8 Fantasy Recap

In a game where Tom Brady passed for over 300 yards with four touchdowns and Ryan Mallett was brought in due to the blowout, Stevan Ridley continued his remarkable season in a pass-happy offense.  The running back racked up 127 yards on only 15 carries (8.5 yards per rush) with a touchdown (could have been two if not for Shane "The Vulture" Vareen).  He now has four games of 100+ rush yards this season.  The Patriots are on pace to rush for the most yards as franchise since 1985 when Craig James was their leading rusher. - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31395493 Dud - Steven Jackson vs NE Dud+-+Steven+Jackson+vs+NE Fantasy Football

>>> WATCH Week 8 Fantasy Recap

He rushed for 23 yards on seven carries against the Patriots in Week 8.  He now has only one game where he's rushed for over 100 yards in his past 15 contests.  Don't be surpised if SJax is dealt before the trade deadline.  The Rams have made a conscious effort to pass the torch to Daryl Richardson (seven carries for 53 yards vs NE) and drafted Isaiah Pead this past April.  If Jackson does move teams, it'll be interesting to see what type of offensive line he has to work with in his new digs.  That'll go a long way in analyzing his fantasy value the rest of the season. - Ryan Fowler

Scott Kane - USA TODAY Sports http://static.foxsports.com/content/fscom/img/2012/10/28/102812-NFL-fantasy-G10_20121028170445471_600_400.JPG http://static.foxsports.com/content/fscom/img/2012/10/28/102812-NFL-fantasy-G10_20121028170445471_107_80.JPG
Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31397327 Stud - Jonathan Dwyer vs WAS Stud+-+Jonathan+Dwyer+vs+WAS Fantasy Football

Dwyer became the first Steelers' running back in four years to rush for over 100 yards in back-to-back games.  He's a must-start each week, right?  Um, no.  He only earned another start and majority of the work (17 carries) because Rashard Mendenhall and Isaac Redman were out.  Here's my best advice: don't drop Dwyer as I think he could still prove valuable down the stretch.  Mendenhall is still recovering from several injuries now and Redman hasn't been consistent.  I think Dwyer has proven himself to the Steelers' coaching staff the last two weeks. - Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31397285 Dud - Philip Rivers vs CLE Dud+-+Philip+Rivers+vs+CLE Fantasy Football

The weather didn't do him any favors, but then again Philip Rivers' owners are still fuming over his second-half meltdown against the Broncos two weeks ago.  So, wind, snow, sleet or Hurricane Sandy hovering over Cleveland Browns Stadium wouldn't deter owners from unleashing their rage at a final stat line of 18-34 for 154 yards with no touchdowns.  One tidbit PPR owners should take away from this poor performance is the fact Ronnie Brown, a running back, was his leading receiver with seven receptions for 85 yards. - Ryan Fowler

David Richard - USA TODAY Sports http://static.foxsports.com/content/fscom/img/2012/10/28/102812-NFL-fantasy-G9_20121028170347468_600_400.JPG http://static.foxsports.com/content/fscom/img/2012/10/28/102812-NFL-fantasy-G9_20121028170347468_107_80.JPG
Fantasy Football 2186 43 Week 8 fantasy football studs and duds 31394498 Stud - Matthew Stafford vs SEA Stud+-+Matthew+Stafford+vs+SEA Fantasy Football

>>> WATCH Week 8 Fantasy Recap

Heading into Week 8, Stafford had thrown more interceptions (6) than touchdowns (5) as the opposition had neutralized his top weapon (Calvin Johnson).  Against a top-tier defense in Seattle, Stafford finally adapated to his new surroundings and worked the ball around to seven different receivers including Kevin Smith (I was worried, too).  Stafford finished with over 300 passing yards for the fourth time this season with three passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and one interception.  When you tally it up, Stafford finished with a Week 8-high, 37 fantasy points. I'd say playing Jacksonville in Week 9 would be great news for Stafford owners, but that defense just slowed down Aaron Rodgers.  - Ryan Fowler
