Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30267893 Dud – Peyton Hillis vs Raiders Dud+%26ndash%3B+Peyton+Hillis+vs+Raiders Fantasy Football

I’m not going to bring up the Madden curse, but don’t you find it odd that he was playing in, of all places, Oakland, when he left the game with a hamstring injury that will require a MRI on Monday. Hillis was limited to 14 rushing yards on six carries against the 23rd ranked rush defense in the NFL. Desperate owners looking for some flex help should take a gander at Montario Hardesty. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30269778 Stud - Michael Turner vs. Panthers Stud+-+Michael+Turner+vs.+Panthers Fantasy Football

I received a question during our Sunday morning fantasy chat wondering if, and I’m paraphrasing, Turner would ever remove his head from his butt and start producing this season. Dude, open your eyes! The “Burner” is averaging 79.8 rush yards per game and has now scored five touchdowns in the last three games. What does he have to accomplish to impress you?! You’re lucky you don’t have Chris Johnson. Turner’s 139 yards on the ground against the Panthers were the most in a game since Week 5 of 2010 (vs. CLE). – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30267894 Dud - Rex Grossman vs. Eagles Dud+-+Rex+Grossman+vs.+Eagles Fantasy Football

After shocking the world with 305 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions Week 1 against the Giants, “Sexy Rexy” followed that up with a three-game stretch where he threw four touchdowns and five picks, while only completing 56.8 percent of his passes. So, when Grossman threw nearly half as many completions to the Eagles (four interceptions) as he did Redskins (nine of 22 passing) on Sunday, head coach Mike Shanahan had the easy decision to bench him and play John Beck. Expect Beck to get the starts at QB moving forward. Let’s be honest, it was only a matter of time. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30267896 Stud - Marques Colston vs Buccaneers Stud+-+Marques+Colston+vs+Buccaneers Fantasy Football

Drew Brees targeted Jimmy Graham, Darren Sproles and Colston 11 times each against Tampa Bay. His number one wide receiver finished with seven receptions for 118 yards with his first touchdown on the season. It’s only been five weeks since Colston broke his collarbone in Week 1 against Green Bay on opening night. The 118 receiving yards are the most Colston has recorded since Week 12 of the 2009 season (vs. NE). – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30267895 Dud – Roddy White vs Panthers Dud+%26ndash%3B+Roddy+White+vs+Panthers Fantasy Football

Even the absence of Julio Jones couldn’t shake the rust off White in Week 6. He finished with only two receptions for 21 yards against the Panthers as Harry Douglas, starting in place of Jones, led all Atlanta receivers with 57 yards. If there was a silver lining, it’s that Michael Turner carried the load on offense and Matt Ryan only passed 22 times, so the weekly results may stink, but it’s definitely not a sign of things to come. White has only eclipsed 100 receiving yards once this season to go along with a meager two touchdowns as Week 7 approaches. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30267897 Stud - Rashard Mendenhall vs Jaguars Stud+-+Rashard+Mendenhall+vs+Jaguars Fantasy Football

A collective thud should be heard this week as Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer hit the waiver wire. After posting no better than 66 rush yards in a game this season and still shaking off a hamstring injury suffered two weeks ago, Mendenhall returned to first-round draft status form against the Jaguars. The Steelers’ top back finished with 146 yards on 23 carries (6.3 yards per carry) with a touchdown. Now before you say, “well, yeah he should, it’s the Jaguars,” know Jacksonville was ranked 12th in rush defense (3.7 ypc.) and had allowed only three rushing touchdowns before Week 6. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30269791 Dud – Delone Carter vs Bengals Dud+%26ndash%3B+Delone+Carter+vs+Bengals Fantasy Football

Owners were hoping for more from the rookie out of Syracuse. With Joseph Addai sideline (hamstring, what else), Carter got the start over Donald Brown, but could only muster 45 yards on 14 carries. Brown finished with more fantasy points thanks to 35 rush yards and some fancy footwork on a touchdown run in the second quarter. Addai should return soon, so feel free to jettison Carter back to the waiver wire at your discretion. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30269780 Stud - Ahmad Bradshaw vs Bills Stud+-+Ahmad+Bradshaw+vs+Bills Fantasy Football

Not to get all “Fowler Downer” on Bradshaw’s three-touchdown performance, but it was chock full of “what-if” fantasy scenarios. First, I can’t imagine Tom Coughlin would call Bradshaw’s number on three one-yard plunges if Brandon Jacobs was healthy. Plus, two of his scores came after Jake Ballard and Mario Manningham failed to break the plane and were tackled at the one. If you remove the scores, he still finished with 23 carries for 101 yards. Not a bad day in the backfield, but owners will definitely savor the extra 21 fantasy points. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30270306 Dud - Rams vs Packers Dud+-+Rams+vs+Packers Fantasy Football

The Rams’ offense is atrocious. They have only managed to score 20 points total their last three games. If not for Jay Cutler’s offensive line woes in Chicago, Sam Bradford may be receiving some of the same attention. The Packers sacked him three times Sunday to boost the season sum to 22 and was hit an additional five times. Mike Sims-Walker was a healthy scratch before the game, so that experiment has seemed to fall by the wayside. St. Louis finished the game three for 13 on third downs and could only muster a late second-quarter field goal against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Steven Jackson is the only guy with fantasy value (non-PPR) on that roster. – Ryan Fowler

Fantasy Football 2186 1240 Fantasy studs and duds: NFL Week 6 30269779 Stud - Andy Dalton vs Colts Stud+-+Andy+Dalton+vs+Colts Fantasy Football

“The Red Rifle” lived up to the fantasy hype against the Colts. Dalton was a suggested start at quarterback for owners dealing with Week 6 byes and those in 2-QB leagues. Using the KISS method, the Bengals’ quarterback finished 25-32 for 264 yards and a touchdown to fellow rookie A.J. Green. In most standard scoring leagues, that works out to roughly 19 points trumping the fantasy totals of both Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger on the afternoon. – Ryan Fowler

While Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz were playing “whose is bigger?” in Detroit, New Orleans head coach Sean Payton kept his eye on the game as trainers attended to his shredded knee following a sideline collision. It was later learned Payton tore his MCL and broke his knee. He will have surgery Monday. That’s stud. – Ryan Fowler
