News and Analysis
Wheaton had five receptions for 38 yards and two carries for 22 yards in Thursday's 26-6 loss to the Ravens.

Impact: Wheaton looked just as quick as you'd expect on the pair of running plays, but he didn't do much with his eight targets, despite facing a banged-up Baltimore secondary that was without top CB Lardarius Webb (back). In fact, with Antonio Brown shadowed by CB Jimmy Smith for most of the night, Wheaton largely had favorable matchups against CB Chykie Brown, CB Asa Jackson and S Matt Elam. Still, he gets a bit of a pass for the disappointing performance, as Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh offense played poorly as a whole. It is a bit concerning for Wheaton's owners that the Steelers have struggled so badly on offense since putting up 27 points in the first half last week. On the bright side, the defense also doesn't look especially good, so perhaps the Steelers will spend the season airing things out.
