After picking his first career win in his only appearance of his current major league stint Saturday, Treinen was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
Treinen fought through a 55-minute rain delay in the second game of a day-night doubleheader against the Cubs, scattering four hits and giving up two earned runs while sitting down three and walking just one. He tossed 54-of-78 pitches for strikes, improving his ERA to 2.29 and his record to 1-3 on the season. Look for him to be high of the Nats' list next time they need an arm from the farm.
