Avilan has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
After a month in the minors, the Braves are hoping Avilan can regain the form he displayed over the last two seasons in Atlanta. A 4.85 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 29.2 innings during the first half led to the 25-year-old lefty's demotion immediately following the All-Star break. His numbers in nine Triple-A appearances, though, have been even worse. However, his time was mostly spent adjusting mechanics, with less concern for actual results. Juan Jaime was optioned back to Gwinnett after Wednesday's game in order to clear a spot on the roster.
