Pineda "looked great" in his 45-pitch simulated game Tuesday, and will make a rehab start Sunday, YES Network's Meredith Marakovits reports.
The Yankees haven't announced where Pineda will begin his rehab assignment, but he is expected to throw 60-65 pitches, and a return by mid-August certainly seems feasible. He was fabulous in four starts earlier this season, posting a 1.83 ERA and a 15:3 K:BB ratio in 19.2 innings. He's worth stashing in mid-sized leagues, and would be an excellent candidate to place on a DL spot if there is one available in your league.
