Cubs GM Jed Hoyer said Tuesday that Castro has recovered from his season-ending ankle injury, Patrick Mooney of CSNChicago.com reports.
A high-ankle sprain, suffered in early September, cut short what was shaping up to be a very strong second half for Castro (.329/.371/.432). The 24-year-old has evidently turned the page on the injury, as Hoyer said he is showing good mobility and has passed several running and jumping tests. Castro should be able to go through his normal offseason routine.
