Jones (back, elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
A top candidate to close for the White Sox coming into the year, Jones made just two appearances before a back issue forced him onto the shelf. He then underwent disc surgery in May, with the expectation being that he could return in late July or early August, but Jones evidently tore his right UCL while rehabbing. Dr. James Andrews performed the reconstructive procedure Tuesday, and given the 12-18 month recovery window pitchers typically face, Jones' entire 2015 campaign could be in jeopardy.
