Lambo, who has been activated from the Triple-A disabled list, will bat fifth and serve as the Indianapolis Indians's designated hitter Thursday.
The outfielder has been out since May. After bombing in spring training in a first base trial with Pittsburgh, the 25-year-old left-handed hitter batted .344/.430/.570 in 93 Triple-A at-bats. The Bucs no longer have outfield openings, but their first base platoon of Ike Davis and Gaby Sanchez leaves much to be desired. There's a chance Lambo could get another shot at first base in Pittsburgh before season's end.
