Ottavino struck out one over a scoreless ninth to pick up his first career save on Wednesday.
LaTroy Hawkins pitched two innings in Tuesday's extra inning game, making him unavailable for Wednesday's game. That opened the door for Ottavino, who finished things off in the 10th inning. He did give up a two out base hit to Starlin Castro, but would immediately retire Luis Valbuena on one pitch to secure the save. Ottavino won't see too many more save chances, especially if recent reports are accurate about the Rockies holding onto Hawkins. The 28-year-old reliever has compiled a 3.80 ERA and 1.25 WHIP to go along with a 49:12 K:BB across 47.1 innings this season.
