Hellickson pitched 4.2 scoreless innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Red Sox. He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five.
Hellickson actually departed the game with a 2-0 lead, so had he been able to last the full five innings required for a win, he would have earned his first victory on the season. Nonetheless, the 27-year-old has looked steady in his two starts this year after a lengthy recovery from elbow surgery, allowing just a single earned run while walking three and fanning seven in nine innings against Kansas City and Boston. Hellickson is next scheduled to toe the bump Friday against the Angels.
