Sanchez (7-4) gave up five runs on 11 hits while walking one and striking out four across 6.1 innings Wednesday to pick up the win against the Diamondbacks.
Sanchez started out fine, tossing four scoreless frames and allowing just three hits while his offense spotted him a 7-0 lead. Things changed quickly over his final 2.1 innings however, as he allowed five runs on eight hits, turning a 7-0 lead into just a 7-5 lead. It was a three-run fifth inning that did most of the damage, highlighted by a Didi Gregorius two-run shot. The 30-year-old right-hander has seen his strikeout rate drop significantly this season (9.99 K/9 in 2013 ? 6.81 K/9 in 2014) but he's still posting a more than respectable 3.45 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 107 innings. He'll face off with the division rival White Sox next week.
