Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said Tuesday that a final decision on ankle surgery for Cabrera has not been made, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.
Bone spurs in the ankle limited Cabrera's mobility throughout much of the second half of the season, but it sounds like both Cabrera and the team are still weighing their options. Even if a cleanup procedure is ultimately deemed necessary, it likely wouldn't endanger Cabera's availability for the start of next season. The 31-year-old finished the 2014 campaign with a .313/.371/.524 batting line, 25 homers, 109 RBI and 101 runs scored in 159 games.
