Outlook: After missing most of 2013 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Oliveros delivered dominant numbers in relief while splitting his season between Double-A and Triple-A, finishing with a cumulative 1.67 ERA and 87 strikeouts over 64.2 innings. He struggled in a September callup but displayed a 93.8 mph average fastball. With the Twins needing high-velocity arms in the bullpen, Oliveros will have a shot at a middle-relief role in spring training.

Outlook: Fornataro spent most of 2014 pitching for the Cardinals' Triple-A affiliate in Memphis, logging 56 innings and piling up 15 saves with a 2.57 ERA. He did make eight appearances for the Cardinals in relief during the first half and posted a 4.66 ERA. Claimed off waivers by the Nationals in November, Fornataro will look to land a middle relief role in spring training. The righty will be in his age-27 season in 2015 so it's unlikely he'll ever have any fantasy value as he's likely going to be an organizational depth guy, serving as roster filler in the higher levels of the minor leagues with the occasional big league appearance sprinkled in.

Outlook: Gonzalez missed a significant amount of time early last season as he struggled to get over a shoulder injury. The Phillies worked him back slowly and shifted him to a relief role while on a rehab assignment. He looked good in that role in the minors and eventually earned a promotion to the majors in September when rosters expanded. Gonzalez hit the upper-90s with his fastball working as a reliever and has an impressive mix of pitches to keep batters guessing. He also has shown some difficulty commanding his pitches, though it is possible that is due to his long layoff from pitching after defecting from Cuba and the relatively small number of innings he threw last year. The Phillies remain intrigued by Gonzalez's potential and will give him a chance to compete for a rotation spot this spring. Given his high powered fastball, Gonzalez is worth speculating on at the end of early drafts to see how he performs in camp. He has the potential to deliver a significant return on a small investment.

Outlook: Jackson battled a wrist injury in spring training, and the ailment eventually required him to undergo surgery in June. He played in just 11 games last season -- his only one as a member of the San Diego organization -- and Jackson was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers in November before getting traded to Kansas City. The Royals will give him a chance to earn a reserve role in spring training, as Jackson has proven to be a quality defender with steady on-base skills -- including a .278/.352/.346 line and a 9-for-9 mark as a basestealer with the Cardinals in 2013 -- but he may have to beat out former first-round pick Christian Colon to serve as the team's primary utility option. Even if injuries pave the way for Jackson to see a temporary run of everyday at-bats, the offensive tools are too light to get excited about.

Outlook: The elbow injury that ended Hanrahan’s 2013 campaign kept him on the sideline for the entirety of 2014 as well. Originally expected to return from Tommy John surgery in mid-2014, Hanrahan was a free agent until he was finally scooped up by the Tigers in early May. The Tigers had hoped to bring Hanrahan along slowly, progressing him through the minors until he was ready to face major-league hitters. Hanrahan threw multiple bullpen sessions, and his fastball reportedly reached 92-93 mph in some workouts, but he eventually suffered a setback and was shut down for the remainder of the season in late July. Despite the struggles to return to the mound last year, the veteran reliever is expected to be ready for spring training, and the Tigers were confident enough to hand him a $1 million contract with incentives to reach $2.5 million if he makes the active roster. Even if Hanrahan does prove to be healthy for the first time in two years, he still has re-establish his effectiveness. If all goes well, Hanrahan will provide the Tigers with late-inning depth in front of setup man Joakim Soria and closer Joe Nathan.

3 Year Average 0 0 0 1.3 1 13.50 3.75
Outlook: The White Sox claimed Garcia off of waivers in November, as the Dodgers simply couldn't wait any longer for him to return from elbow surgery. He was expected to be ready for the start of spring training last season, but Garcia fell behind and never made it back to the big leagues after getting a taste of Los Angeles in 2013. Prior to undergoing surgery, Garcia could bring mid-90s heat from the left side, and the 25-year-old has a much clearer path to an Opening Day roster spot on the south side of Chicago. Of major concern, in addition to health, is that Garcia has always struggled with walks, as he issued them at a 5.5 BB/9 clip while spending most of his last healthy season at Double-A. He still has options left, so the White Sox can afford to send him down to Triple-A without exposing him to waivers as long as they're willing to keep him on their 40-man roster.
