ChiSox send Sale to DL
White Sox SP Chris Sale has been placed on the DL with a flexor muscle strain in his left forearm. Before you start yelling, "OMG I KNEW IT HIS MECHANICS ARE AWFUL HE'S ALWAYS BEEN AN INJURY WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!," the team says that Sale's elbow ligaments are fine, and seems to think he could be back after his 15 days are up - meaning only a couple of missed starts. Let's hope they're right.
On to the rest of the news:
Streaming starters: Wily Peralta had a pretty good outing on Monday, raising our record to 12-9. Today's pick is Edinson Volquez (owned in 10.5 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) versus the Reds, while Wednesday's selection is Miami fireballer Nathan Eovaldi (20.5 percent owned) at Atlanta. Did you know that Eovaldi has 23 strikeouts against just three walks in 25 1/3 innings? Sure, his opponents (Rockies, Padres, Phillies, Mariners) haven't been so good, but those are impressive numbers, anyway.
If you missed it, Cubs' manager Rick Renteria said Sunday that he hopes Jose Veras can start closing games again at some point. I bet Veras' fantasy owners would like that, too. However, the Cubs may have another closer on the horizon.
It sounds like Yankee closer David Robertson could come off the DL any day now. K-Rob threw a bullpen session on Sunday, and says he's ready.
A's OF Yoenis Cespedes is day-to-day with a bruised heel; he didn't play Monday.
Frankie Rodriguez has eight saves already?
See you back here tomorrow morning.
