Tigers telecasts on FSD dominate summer TV ratings

Since the start of the 2014 MLB season on March 31, Tigers telecasts on FOX Sports Detroit are the highest-rated and most-viewed programming in Detroit.

Tigers telecasts are averaging an 8.38 household rating and 156,000 viewers in prime time (7-11 p.m.), 71 percent higher than the No. 2-ranked WDIV-NBC (4.91) during the same period.*

The Tigers also have the highest local TV ratings in all of Major League Baseball, 7.49 (all telecasts, including afternoon games).*

The highest-rated game of the 2014 season is the Tigers' 4-3 Opening Day victory over the Kansas City Royals, which produced a 14.9 household average in a simulcast with WJBK.

The Tigers open a three-game home series against the Chicago White Sox at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. with Tigers Live on FSD.
