Tatar, Nyquist go head-to-head for TSN Play of the Year

For the second year in a row, the Red Wings have secured TSN Klondike's Play of the Year crown before the final votes have even been tallied.
While Pavel Datsyuk had two plays square off for the title last year, teammates Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar are going head-to-head in 2014.
With three days left to vote, Tatar holds a substantial lead over Nyquist with a highlight-reel goal against the Dallas Stars. Tatar split two defensemen, sending them crashing into each other, before firing a backhand shot past goaltender Kari Lehtonen.
In the play that sent Nyquist to the final matchup, the speedy Swede netted a goal from an impossible angle after drawing a penalty against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
