Sam Martin goes Hollywood

Sam Martin, who averaged 47.2 yards per punt during his first year in the NFL, certainly has come a long way from his Appalachian State days.

Rookie punter Sam Martin is going Hollywood on his Detroit Lions teammates.

Martin, a fifth-round draft pick last year, was spotted by TMZ leaving a Los Angeles bar Thursday night with actor David Arquette.

The TMZ crew asked Arquette who is going to be in the Super Bowl and he responded: "Detroit Lions. Next year, they are going to win. I will bet TMZ 500 dollars right now."

Arquette, who was recently divorced from actress Courteney Cox, then pointed to Martin and said, "He’s going to kick the winning (bleep) field goal."

Martin quickly corrected Arquette, saying, "The winning punt."

They both walked away laughing.

Wonder if Arquette even realizes the Lions have never been to the Super Bowl?

Martin, who averaged 47.2 yards per punt during his first year in the NFL, certainly has come a long way from his Appalachian State days. He apparently met Arquette through Lions teammate Joseph Fauria, who played in college at UCLA.
