Quick Hits: Orioles at Tigers 3.26.15

Early News: The Tigers optioned pitcher Buck Farmer to Triple A Toledo this morning and assigned the contract of RHP Rafael Dolis to minor-league camp.

Tom Gage: Either one a surprise, Dana Wakiji?

DW — Not really. Farmer didn’t do anything to merit being sent down, but they already have righties Joe Nathan, Bruce Rondon, Joakim Soria, Al Alburquerque and Joba Chamberlain that are already on the team.

TG — So what about this game this afternoon? What’s of interest? Other than David Price starting.

DW — I would keep an eye on Angel Nesbitt, who has opened eyes this spring. He throws hard, but has three other pitches he relies on and can throw them all for strikes.

TG — No chance of Nathan being cut before the end of camp, right?

DW — I sincerely doubt it, especially since his last couple of outings have been pretty good. His velocity is up and he said he feels great.

TG — Did you say hello to Delmon Young (in the lineup for the Orioles)?

DW — He walked right by me when he was heading to the field and did say, ‘Hey, what’s up?’ I said hello.

TG — Record length discussion, congrats.
