According to Jim Bowden of ESPN and Sirius XM's Inside Pitch, the San Diego Padres rejected one Tigers offer to send Porcello to the Padres for Huston Street and an offer to exchange Porcello for Luke Gregerson.
Street, 29, has 201 career saves in 240 chances, most recently going 23-24 for the Padres in 2012. He's 0-0 with a 2.57 ERA and 1.14 WHIP this spring.
Gregerson, 28, is 11-14 with a 2.92 ERA and 1.29 WHIP for his career. He has 12 saves in the big leagues. This spring he has not allowed a run in five innings of work.
Bowden indicated that talks were continuing.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal watched Porcello start a minor league game Wednesday. According to Rosenthal, he was joined by scouts from the Padres, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals.
Porcello is 3-1 with a 2.50 ERA and 0.78 WHIP this spring, including allowing one unearned run and one hit in 6 2/3 innings in that minor league game Wednesday.
The New York Daily News' Andy Martino spoke with an unnamed baseball executive, who said," They have been actively calling around on him, asking a lot, but I think they will move him."
