Michigan-Syracuse rematch highlights 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge

The 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups were released Thursday, and one is sure to the draw interest of local fans.

Michigan will host Syracuse on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in a rematch of a 2013 Final Four semifinal game, which the Wolverines won to advance to the National Championship.

Michigan State will play at Notre Dame on Dec. 3, marking the first meeting between the two teams since the 1979 NCAA tournament.

Other notable matchups include Duke at Wisconsin, Ohio State at Louisville, Pittsburgh at Indiana and Iowa at North Carolina.

All 14 Big Ten teams and 14 of the 15 ACC teams will participate in the 16th annual Challenge, which will mark the debut of Maryland and Rutgers as members of the Big Ten, and Louisville with the ACC.

The two conferences have split the past two events, winning six games each in 2012 and 2013.
