According to the Cavs, Varejao suffered a left knee contusion in Sunday's loss to the Phoenix Suns. That's actually good news, when you consider injuries have limited Varejao to just 81 games in the previous three seasons combined.
"He's fine," said Cavs coach Mike Brown. "He got treatment (Monday). I haven't talked to him since the treatment. I think he'll be OK."
Varejao, 31, has played in all 44 games for the Cavs this season and is averaging 8.8 points and a team-high 10.3 rebounds.
Also on Monday, forward Luol Deng sat out practice to rest his bothersome Achilles. Deng has not taken part in the contact portions of practice since arriving in a Jan. 7 trade, Brown said.
Rookie swingman Carrick Felix also missed Monday's practice with a sore left knee.
