Report: A&M hires law firm for Manziel
According to USA Today, the firm has been hired to aid in the case of quarterback Johnny Manziel following allegations that he signed autographs in exchange for a five-figure payment, which would be a violation of NCAA rules.
The report states that Texas A&M senior associate athletic director Jason Cook confirmed that the school had retained Birmingham law firm Lightfoot, Franklin and White as legal counsel.
The firm represented Newton during the investigation into allegations claiming that his dad sought money to send his son to Mississippi State. There were never any formal charges in the Newton case.
