Easley not your average SEC player
SEC football players really need to start taking history lessons on their sport.
Two years after LSU punter Brad Wing said he didn’t know who Bear Bryant was, Florida defensive lineman Dominique Easley took things even further on Tuesday at SEC Media Days. Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post tweeted the following from the event in Hoover, Ala.:
Not a joke: Dominique Easley was asked a question about Bear Bryant & didn't recognize the name. He asked if it was some kind of cartoon.— Jason Lieser (@PBPjasonlieser) July 16, 2013
Dominique Easley's apology via @SDS: "I'm sorry, Alabama fans. I'm from New York and didn't watch football growing up."— Jason Lieser (@PBPjasonlieser) July 16, 2013
We assume Easley was thinking of Yogi Bear, who come to think of it does kind of resemble arguably the greatest college football coach to ever live. Either way, at least Wing had the excuse of being an Australian for his ignorance. Easley’s lack of SEC football history knowledge must have Alabama fans fuming.
