Demetre Baker ran for two touchdowns as South Alabama defeated Division II Henderson State 28-3 on Saturday.
Baker, who gained 111 yards, scored on runs of 1 and 7 yards in the first quarter as the Jaguars (5-3) led 28-0 at halftime and coasted to the win. South Alabama amassed 252 yards rushing and 372 yards in total offense.
It was the largest margin of victory this season for the Jaguars, whose previous three games were decided by a total of 10 points. South Alabama has won three of its past four games.
The Jaguars defense allowed 210 yards total offense but made big plays when it needed. South Alabama forced seven turnovers -four interceptions - and three fumbles- and held Henderson State to 0 for 10 on third down conversions.
Jordan Means kicked field goals of 18, 18 and 45 yards to round out the scoring for South Alabama.
