San Francisco Bowl to now include Pac-10 team

"In light of recent changes in the landscape of the Big East, our bowl had the opportunity to try to secure a Pac-10 Conference team," said Gary Cavalli, the game's executive director. "We are thrilled to have the Pacific-10 Conference as our new bowl partner. We believe this new affiliation will help us take the bowl to the next level."
The new format will now pit the sixth choice from the Pac-10 against the No. 3 school from the Mountain West.
"The Pac-10 is very pleased to...send a team to the San Francisco Bowl," said Pac-10 assistant commissioner Jim Muldoon. "We look forward to a long relationship with our new bowl partner."
