Tony Williams IV followed that with a 48-yard interception return that made it 26-0 for the Eagles (2-1) midway through the third quarter. NC Central forced seven turnovers, including five interceptions of Matt Johnson.
Charlotte (2-1), in its first year of football, was among the national offensive leaders after two easy wins and continued to put up big numbers. Johnson was 35 of 52 for 335 yards and the 49ers piled up 533 yards of total offense, but couldn't overcome all the mistakes.
Michael Jones had two of the interceptions. Wilkins' touchdown was the second-longest in the Eagles' history after a 102-yard return by Richard Wilkins in 1961.
Idreis Augustus had two short touchdown runs in the fourth quarter for the Eagles, who had 385 yards on offense.
