Wooden Award watch list released
All are great, but only one can win college hoops' Player of the Year award. And they have a lot of competition.
The midseason Wooden Award watch list was released Thursday, identifying 25 frontrunners in the race for the most prestigious honor.
The top 25 to watch are: UNLV freshman forward Anthony Bennett; Missouri senior forward Laurence Bowers; Michigan sophomore guard Trey Burke; Murray State senior guard Isaiah Canaan; Syracuse sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams; Notre Dame senior forward Jack Cooley; Duke senior guard Seth Curry; San Diego State junior guard Jamaal Franklin; Virginia Tech senior guard Erick Green; Gonzaga senior forward Elias Harris; Baylor senior guard Pierre Jackson; Cincinnati junior swingman Sean Kilpatrick; Lehigh senior guard C.J. McCollum; Creighton junior forward Doug McDermott; Kansas freshman guard Ben McLemore; Illinois senior guard Brandon Paul; Duke senior forward Mason Plumlee; Georgetown sophomore forward Otto Porter Jr.; Missouri junior guard Phil Pressey; Oklahoma State freshman guard Marcus Smart; Louisville junior guard Russ Smith; Ohio State junior forward Deshaun Thomas; Kansas senior center Jeff Withey; South Dakota State senior guard Nate Wolters; Indiana sophomore center Cody Zeller.
Anthony Davis won the award last year as a freshman at Kentucky.
