Report: Porter charged with sex abuse
Former Kentucky basketball player Michael Porter has been charged in Lexington with sexually abusing a female minor, The Courier-Journal reported Tuesday.
Porter, 25, is accused of molesting the victim on more than one occasion when she was 14 and 15 years old, according to the police report.
The former point guard pleaded not guilty to six charges of sodomy in the third degree and two charges of sexual abuse in the first degree, according to WYMT-TV.
A judge agreed to release Porter to a third party Tuesday. He was ordered to wear an ankle monitor and instructed not to leave the state of Kentucky.
Porter, who is married with one child, also was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim.
Porter, who played for Kentucky from 2006-2009, was believed to be 21 at the time of the alleged abuse. He reportedly met the alleged victim while working as a group leader at a church function.
