Colorado tabs Boyle as new head coach

According to multiple sources, Boyle, who has turned around the Northern Colorado program, was selected over Colorado associate head coach Steve McClain and Oregon assistant Mike Dunlap -- who was an assistant with the Denver Nuggets.
Boyle grew up in Colorado, played at Kansas and was an assistant under Mark Turgeon at Wichita State. He won a school-record 25 games and finished second in the Big Sky this past season after taking over a program four years ago that was transitioning into the D-1 ranks and was ranked dead last in the RPI.
Boyle takes over for Jeff Bzdelik, who left to go to Wake earlier in the month.
The Buffs, who were 15-16 last season and 6-10 in the Big 12, should be able to finish in the top half of the league this season with the expected return of Alec Burks and Cory Higgins.
