UNC Greensboro beats Appalachian State 66-60

Kyle Cain had 12 points and 14 rebounds and UNC-Greensboro ran away from Appalachian State in the second half for a 66-60 win on Thursday night.
After trailing 30-29 at halftime, UNCG (9-9, 2-1 Southern Conference) opened the second on a 13-6 run to take the lead for good. The Spartans had their biggest lead at 61-50 when Cain's layup capped an 8-2 run with 1:28 to play.
Appalachian State (4-11, 0-2) went on an 11-2 run to finish the first half. They fell behind early in the second but charged back to within 42-41 on Mike Neal's 3-pointer. Jordan Potts answered with four straight points to put UNCG back in control.
Nicholas Paulos and Tevon Saddler had 13 points each to lead UNCG in scoring.
