Four years ago, the Final Four featured a trio of first-team All-Americans, the future No. 1 overall pick in that year's NBA draft (Derrick Rose) and a national championship game pitting John Calipari (Memphis) versus Bill Self (Kansas). This year's Final Four has three All-Americans, Kentucky's Anthony Davis and a potential Calipari-Self championship rematch.

In January, Alabama beat LSU in the BCS Championship Game — also played at the Superdome in New Orleans — just two months after the two teams had met in the regular season. Kentucky beat Louisville 69-62 on New Year's Eve while Kansas beat Ohio State 78-67 on December 10, with Buckeyes forward Jared Sullinger out with a sore back. Should the Wildcats and Jayhawks advance, recall that UK beat KU by 10 in November at Madison Square Garden.

Kentucky is the only remaining team that's won each of its four tourney games by double digits. Since 2000, the Wildcats have won more games (357) than any other school, while currently boasting the nation's longest home win streak (52). In Calipari's first two seasons, seven Wildcats have been picked in the first round of the NBA draft and as many as three more may join that list in June.

Three of Ohio State's starters — Aaron Craft (4), William Buford (44) and Jared Sullinger (0) are from Ohio. None of Kentucky's or Louisville's starters are from Kentucky. Three of the four teams have one starter from Indiana and three teams also have a starter from New Jersey.

Only North Carolina and UCLA have appeared in more Final Fours (18) than Kentucky (15), and only Duke (also 15) has appeared in more than Kansas (14), Ohio State (11) and Louisville (9). The Buckeyes, who participated in the inaugural Final Four in 1939, are the only school among the group that has failed to win multiple titles.
