FSU football fans were not happy most of National Signing Day. But the ‘Noles ended it with a bang in signing Marvin Wilson.

FSU football fans had a good start to the day Wednesday when four-star linebacker recruit Leonard Warner chose the ‘Noles over Stanford.

However, the hours after that got increasingly depressing as blue chip target after blue chip target decided to go elsewhere.

The drama began with four-star linebacker Levi Jones from Texas who was choosing between FSU, USC and Florida. Most in Nole nation felt like Jones was coming to FSU as of Tuesday but things began to change swiftly Wednesday morning when his mother tweeted this:

Notice she didn’t include a FSU tag in her tweet?

Of course, Jones choose USC and three-star defensive tackle Neil Farrell decided to stick with his commitment to LSU.

Four-star wide receiver Henry Ruggs III decided to stay in-state and goto Alabama around 11 a.m.

The lone remaining target was the most important one according our Twitter pole prior to NSD:

Of course, the FSU football staff was able to land the big time recruit finish with the No. 6 class in the nation. Let’s take a look at how the fan reaction on Twitter unfolded.

Final Thoughts

National Signing Day is always a subtle reminder that you’re dealing with young people who don’t think rationally most of the time, or are easily influenced.

Case in point:

What are you going to in situations like that? It’s totally unpredictable. Which is why we wrote a reminder about having perspective on National Signing Day.

After all, FSU could also be Tennessee and finish with 28 commitments, and 23 of them being three star recruits. The future is extremely bright for FSU football.
