Former South Carolina linebacker says he’s coming to Kansas

Make that another Power 5 transfer who has decided to take his talents to Lawrence.

Multiple media outlets have reported that former South Carolina linebacker Marcquis Roberts has announced his plans to come play for the Jayhawks.

“Thank you to all the schools that wanted me to join their school,” he wrote in a Facebook post announcing his decision. “It feels like a second chance. I will be playing football and working towards my master’s degree at Kansas University. Blessed beyond belief.”

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker was sidelined in his first two seasons at South Carolina, but performed well during his first season on the field in 2013. However, his productivity tapered off last season.

Roberts has two years of eligibility left, but his ability to immediately play for the Jayhawks depends on whether or not he has received his bachelor's degree.
