Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois is officially awesome

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 9:56 p.m. ET

I am already excited about Florida State's prospects for the 2017 season. Looking at sophomore QB Deondre Francois" latest accomplishment just cements it.

Having attended Florida State, I can attest to the fact that the Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) fraternity house is massive. Seriously. It was big back when I went there, and it has since been remodeled. Supposedly it is now the largest fraternity house on the planet–a dubious honor, certainly, but it puts things in perspective.

Deondre Francois, Florida State's quarterback, was asked to throw a ball over the Pike house on Saturday afternoon, a feat that has only been accomplished by one other QB in FSU history–Francois' predecessor, Jameis Winston. Francois accomplished the toss handily. Before you naysayers start to scoff and act like this launch was nothing special, be aware that the fraternity house has a 35-foot peak. That is three-and-a-half freaking stories, y'all.

Look, this may not mean anything in the long run, but it certainly proves that the 'Noles young QB has a massive arm. Fellow quarterbacks Christian Ponder and EJ Manuel also attempted this throw and failed. According to ESPN and the Orlando Sentinel, Jameis Winston led the Seminoles to an undefeated season after he completed a similar throw in 2013. Let's hope that this crazy performance is a good omen for the upcoming football season.
