The first of six College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Oct. 31, following the ninth full weekend of games.

The ranking will continue to be revealed each Tuesday night on ESPN for five weeks during the regular season. The final rankings and playoff pairings will be released on Dec. 3, the day after all the conference championship games are played.

The College Football Playoff also announced Thursday the schools that will cause members of the selection committee to be recused from voting. Recusal is necessary if a selection committee member or family member of the committee is being compensated by a school, provides professional services for a school or is on the coaching staff or administrative staff at a school.
