Every week until the official College Football Playoff field is announced, a group of FOX Sports broadcasters, writers and production staff will vote on the "FOX Four" -- our collective ranking of the current four best teams in the country. Here is how we would seed the playoff field after Week 9.
Next week on FOX and FS1 (all times ET): UCLA at No. 21 Colorado (Thursday, 9 p.m., FS1); Texas at Texas Tech (Saturday, Noon, FS1); TCU at No. 13 Baylor (Saturday, 3 p.m., FOX).
In a weekend when four unbeaten teams fell, Washington survived a challenging trip to Utah to keep their perfect season and the Pac-12’s hope of getting into the playoff alive. UW still has a few hurdles to clear before the Pac-12 title game -- at Cal next week followed by home games against USC and Arizona State and then the Apple Cup at Washington State to end the regular season.

The Tigers had one last major landmine to avoid on their way to an undefeated season -- at Florida State in Week 9 -- and they got out of Tallahassee with a 37-34 victory. Their work isn't over -- home games against Syracuse and Pitt are next before a road game at Wake Forest and then the finale at home against South Carolina -- but Clemson is now positioned as well as anyone in the playoff race.

In a normal year, a road trip to East Lansing would be a huge test for Michigan, but a struggling Michigan State couldn't pose any real threat to the Wolverines in Week 9, as UM cruised 32-23. Home games against Maryland and Indiana, with a road game to Iowa in between, are the only remaining challenges for Michigan before heading to Columbus to face the Buckeyes.
