Washington (-7.5) vs. Colorado (Friday, FOX, 8 ET)
The Buffs’ Top 10 defense is stingy and opportunistic and could cause problems for Huskies QB Jake Browning. But CU’s offense has often struggled outside of Boulder, and Washington’s D is pretty darn good, too.
The Cowboys have not scored fewer than 30 points in a game since Sept. 24. Not coincidentally, they’ve won seven straight. They’ll cause problems for Bob Stoops’ defense, but Baker Mayfield, Dede Westbrook and Joe Mixon prevail.
There’s little doubt Alabama will shut down Florida’s very average offense, but the Gators’ D is itself strong enough to avoid a complete embarrassment. ‘Bama still rolls to a third straight SEC crown.
Bud Foster’s Hokies defense ranks 10th nationally in pass efficiency defense and may be able to put a scare into turnover-prone Deshaun Watson. But even then, Clemson should be able to put points on the board and pull away late.
Penn State (+2.5) vs. Wisconsin (Saturday, FOX, 7 ET)
The Badgers have squeezed every ounce out of their strong defense but limited offense. They suffered close losses to Top 10 teams Ohio State and Michigan. Behind QB Trace McSorley and a dangerous offense, the Nittany Lions have emerged as a legit Top 10 team capable of delivering the same result.
