NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Connecticut and Notre Dame will renew their rivalry next season in the women’s Jimmy V Classic that honors the former N.C. State men’s coach.
The two undefeated teams played 12 times over the previous three seasons before Notre Dame left for the ACC this past year.
UConn (38-0) and Notre Dame (36-0) are in the Final Four and are on a collision course for an unprecedented championship game if both can win their national semifinal games. Notre Dame plays Maryland and UConn faces Stanford on Sunday night.
The former Big East rivals had developed quite the spirited rivalry over the past few seasons.
The 13th annual Jimmy V game will take place on Dec. 6, in South Bend, Ind.
