Rice 75, St. Gregory’s 58

Arsalan Kazemi scored 19 points and Tamir Jackson added 14 to

lead Rice to a 75-58 victory over St. Gregory’s on Sunday.

Kazemi added eight rebounds for the Owls (3-1) who shot just

39.7 percent but took advantage of 23 turnovers by the Cavaliers,

an NAIA team.

Fayzon Richey had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Dylan Lemley

added 14 points for St. Gregory’s, which used only seven players

and counted this game as an exhibition.

Rice scored 27 points off turnovers while committing only eight

of its own.

The Owls never trailed, led 37-30 at halftime and dominated play

inside, outscoring the Cavaliers in the paint 44-16.
