Pepperdine beats cold-shooting San Diego 59-47

SAN DIEGO (AP) Stacy Davis scored 18 points – 13 of those in the first half – and Pepperdine beat cold-shooting San Diego 59-47 on Saturday.

Davis was the only player to score in double figures, finishing 5 of 8 from the floor and 8 of 9 from the free-throw line.

San Diego (9-9, 2-4 WCC) shot 26.5 percent at the half (9 of 34) and finished at 29.7 percent by games end. The Toreros were held to just eight points in the first 11:52 of the second half, allowing the Waves a 17-point lead. Christopher Anderson hit a 3 to break the drought and spark a 9-0 run, but it wasn’t enough to make up the difference.
