Oregon Ducks Lead Down The Stretch To Defeat USC

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 2:12 a.m. ET

Experience helped the Oregon Ducks to a needed road win over the USC Trojans on Saturday night.

Dillon Brooks led four players in double-digit scoring for Oregon and Tyler Dorsey continued to have the hot hand from three point range. It was needed down the stretch as Oregon got back on the winning track entering their final homestand of the season next week. USC did not make it easy.

The Trojans and Ducks came into the game with the same record. Both teams had early season winning streaks – USC saw theirs broken by the Oregon Ducks at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon had a 17-game win streak going that snapped at Colorado last week.

On Saturday the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee pegged the Oregon Ducks as a 2 seed entering the NCAA Tournament with a month left in the season. The win over Arizona likely earned Oregon the high seed, but a number one seed is still in the mix. Dana Altman and the Ducks need to keep winning and control their own destiny the rest of the way. Of course, an Arizona loss would make it easier. As it stands, both teams are atop the Pac-12 Standings. Oregon holds the tiebreaker with the win from last weekend, extending their home winning streak to 40 straight.
