The Kentucky and Louisville rivalry has gone back generations, with the two teams and programs at times very much resembling each other’s success. Friday night’s win by Kentucky, 74-69, in the Sweet 16 was just another storied chapter.
The two coaches – Kentucky’s John Calipari and Louisville’s Rick Pitino – have each been successful and have both won national titles at Kentucky. Calipari’s Wildcats ended the Cardinals’ reign as defending national champs last night.
