Book by escort at heart of Louisville sex scandal on sale … at university bookstore

Did the Cardinals coach sign off on this?

Given how harshly the Louisville basketball program and community have been rocked by the alleged prostitution scandal that cost the team any chance at postseason play this season, students and faculty probably would not expect the University of Louisville bookstore to be pushing these on its shelves:

Yep, that’s right. It’s "Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen" by Katina Powell, the professed madame at the heart of the private escort allegations that led the school to self-impose its postseason ban this season.

Head coach Rick Pitino’s probable reaction? Something along the lines of this, we suppose.

The faces of an anguished Rick Pitino.

Well, it turns out there is apparently an explanation. The controversial book is reportedly being used in a university class — Criminal Justice 440: Human Trafficking.
