Highly touted recruit spurns the NCAA for Europe

It's been a roller-coaster of an offseason for St. John's, with new head coach Chris Mullin signing a bevy or recruits but losing the likes of Chris Obekpa and Rysheed Jordan.

Georgios Papagiannis represented a chance for Mullin to replace Obekpa. However, the 7-1 center from Greece has decided not to play college basketball and pursue playing professionally in Europe next season.

St. John's isn't the only school left disappointed. North Carolina State, Kentucky and Oregon also were real possibilities for the Greek center.
