Hartford 69, Binghamton 57

Andres Torres scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half, and

Mark Nwakamma got 12 of his 14 after halftime, as Hartford pulled

away for a 69-57 victory over winless Binghamton on Sunday.

The Hawks (2-14, 2-2 America East Conference) trailed 27-26 at

halftime but shot 64.7 percent (11 of 17) in the second half to 35

percent (7 of 20) for the Bearcats (0-17, 0-5).

Nwakamma scored eight points in the first 6 minutes of the

second half as Hartford took a 44-32 lead.

Robert Mansell scored 19 points, including 13 in the first half,

for the Bearcats, who haven’t won in 18 games since beating

Maryland-Baltimore County last March 3 in the America East

tournament. Their last regular-season win was over Hartford, 77-47

last Feb. 16.

Binghamton’s next chance to end its streak will come Thursday

night at Maryland-Baltimore County.
