Castlin’s 19 leads Columbia over FDU 54-47

NEW YORK (AP) Kyle Castlin scored 19 points, making 13 of 14 from the foul line, and Columbia beat Fairleigh Dickinson 57-47 on Tuesday night.

Maodo Lo added 12 points and Isaac Cohen 10 rebounds for the Lions (3-1), who won their third consecutive game.

Xavier Harris scored 12 points, Mustafaa Jones 11 and Matt MacDonald 10 for the Knights (2-2).

Columbia led 29-25 at halftime but the Knights closed to one point on two occasions in the second half, the last when Harris scored with 7:32 left to make the score 40-39. The Lions went on a 10-2 run to extend their lead to 50-41 with 2:48 left.

The Lions’ final nine points came on free throws, including seven by Castlin.

Though the schools are just 11 miles apart, they met for just the third time with Columbia winning all three.
