Beasley scores 16 as Seminoles beat Deacons, 91-71

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) Malik Beasley scored 16 points to lead five Florida State players in double figures, and the Seminoles pulled away in the second half to beat Wake Forest 91-71 on Saturday afternoon.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Montay Brandon added 13 points each, Dwayne Bacon and Boris Bojanovsky had 11 each for Florida State (16-7, 6-5 ACC), which had to fight off an early Deacons rally in the second half.

Cornelius Hudson scored 17 points, Devin Thomas had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Bryant Crawford 13 and Codi Miller-McIntyre 12 for Wake Forest (10-13, 1-10), which lost its eighth straight game.

Leading by six points at the half, the Seminoles pulled ahead 43-33 in the opening 97 seconds. The Deacons rallied to tie at 48 on Thomas' layup with 13:47 remaining.

Beasley dropped in a layup 28 seconds later to put Florida State back in the lead, kicking off a 29-15 run over the next 10 minutes that pushed the Seminoles lead back to double digits.
